Description of language levels at Médialangues
NOVICE
Level 1
This foundation level is designed for a novice who has no knowledge of
lexicology; it explores basic vocabulary, to discover the fundamental
building blocks of the language and provides access to the skills necessary
for simple everyday dialogue.

Objectives:
- Acquire basic lexicology
- Explore the dictionary as a basic tool for learning
- Explore the usage of grammar and basic verbs
- Introduce the building of simple sentences
- Improve comprehension by listening to short descriptions

Level 2
This second level is meant for the beginner who has a basic theoretical
knowledge of the language, but lacks confidence and/or the opportunity
to have discussions involving daily life.

Objectives:
At this level, emphasis is placed on topics of daily
conversation to:
- Construct simple sentences
- Initiate conversation
- Increase theoretical knowledge
- Emphasize pronunciation

Level 3
This third level is meant for the beginner with a basic theoretical knowledge
of the language but for whom comprehension is still uncertain and laborious.
|
Objectives:
Emphasis is placed on conversation in order that the
novice strives to achieve a comfort level in briefly
conversing about daily business activities and everyday
situations in a confident manner.
- Reinforce theoretical knowledge
- Emphasize pronunciation: stress placement, rhythm
and intonation.
